Darkness devours me, as I walk the night--
To date with the trees at the park,
And enjoy the aubade sang by
The sons and daughters of the green grass.

Silence annoys me, prodding...
To dwaddle like a boy in the snow-like ground,
With my darling wife, Helen,
As I lead the way to the end of the line--
Down the blue horizon of sand--
Leaving me a christened life--
In the cavalry of castled gems,
Guarded by Faust, and nightingales and doves
Owned by Phoebus, caged all--
Up the pines and chestnuts at the park.

Darkness devours to imbue,
Silence annoys to inspire
The making of a poem.
