Orange Juice And Apple Sauce

saw you at the pizza place
where you always buy your food
you're always in a hurry
cause jess, i think you're foot loose
you say you're just a day late
and a dollar short, oh of course
you asked me if i could pay
but i said “you drive a god damned porsche”

saw you at the manhattan library
where you always sit and read
you're such a geek, but you're pretty chic
and you sure sip alot of green tea
you say you're an astrologist
to all of your friends
but i know you're just a clementine
lost in time and i wanna make you mine

saw you in the hallways at the hammerstein
i asked you if i can borrow your kodak but you said “no, the camera's mine”
you're always fascinated by foreign indie bands
so we had to snatch their autographs and photographs before we ran
you say you're such an old and lonely soul
but i see you for who you really are, no one, no one really knows
oh my jess, i've been blessed to have a friend like you
you were like the invisible woman no one ever knew
