My Wrists Told A Story

It helped me relieve my emotions
Anger, sadness or frustration
I didn't want to cut
But it helped
It really did

I didn't have the courage to face you
I didn't have the strength to tell
If only you knew what I did
How I coped with the pain

My wrists told a story
A tale of a girl
My scars told alot
A scar for every memory

I tried to tell you what I did
But I knew you wouldn't take it well
You'd think I do it fun
You'd think I want attention
So I kept it to myself

I didn't have the courage to face you
I didn't have the strength to tell
So I held on to this burden
A heavy burden it became

I held on to my secret
At times it become heavy
To heavy to bare
So I decided to tell
I decided to tell you

You didn't take it well
You thought I did it for fun
You thought I wanted attention
And now I've lost you

My wrists told a story
A tale of a girl
My scars told a lot
They told a new story now
A story of a girl who lost everything
