My Spiritual Self

Everyday spirits of people follow me
I hear them so much that no one can see
How uncontrollable the sounds seem
Without someone present my spirit is clean
When I close my eyes these spirits are in my mind
During the day they consume my thoughts until I find
The time at night to relax and dream of a perfect place
In hopes that I will live a happly life in the right space

I started writing poetry in fall of 2001 when I realized that I was half way through with college at 20 years old. My first poem, "Canst Thou Love Again," was published in Las Vegas, Nevada and I became a member of the International Society of Poets. On April 6, 2012 I got accepted to the Great Poets Across America in Washington, DC. All of the poems I write are about my past love.I attended Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee.
