My Friend The Philosopher

When I feel like the world is closing in
And no one understands the pain I experience
I look for a brighter view
Someone to reflect light on my darkened hues
I look to her for understanding
She listens quietly and undemanding
Her words flow freely and her thoughts
intriguingly
Never have I been disappointed with her
philosophies
More than anything on earth, her opinions
matter
My little problems are made inferior
Compared to the trauma she has suffered
My tribulations are withered and smothered
Not surprisingly she moves pass
All the hell that has crossed her path
And though she does not know
I truly hope it shows
That I respect and admire her courage
Her intelligence, her pure innocence, her
lineage
But most of all, I cherish dearly
The friendship we have developed clearly
