My First Love
When they made my heart
Heavy as led,
I thought surely I'll
Soon be dead.
They called me obsessive
'Cause I was in-love.
Is there any mercy
In their brains up above?
When they lashed me with words
That felt so hurtful and mean,
My true feeling remained
Buried within and unseen.
I showed a friend-
She took it,
And showed it to almost everyone I knew.
The paper with his name and hearts a lit.
No one understood
The pain in my chest,
When they told him and he
Asked if it was true and I had to resist.
They laughed at me,
Told me he was ugly and weird.
But don't they know looks doesn't matter?
Has that not been cleared?
They abused my feelings,
But they never knew,
That while they were doing it,
I was suffering through.
He asked me multiple times,
And I always said no.
But I was lying
Like that stupid black crow.
When I finally told him,
It was through a note.
I made my friend deliver.
She was more than happy to learn what I wrote.
I told her what we wrote.
And since she didn't like him, she smiled,
But she couldn't see
I was a crying child.
I told him I liked him, but only wanted to be friends,
But that broke me to bits
Like an animal
Who took so many hits.
For a while we didn't talk
Except to say "Hi"
And I have to admit,
I felt pain,
And would almost cry.
We are just friends,
We made amends
Through summer vacation, 'cause we had a break from each other, to think.
But sometimes I still wish we were more than friends.
Help me..................
