My Dream

My dream is just a simple one,
But will it ever start?
I'd give my love to just one man
If he'd give to me his heart.
I don't demand a lot of things,
Just honesty and love,
Material stuff doesn't turn me on,
It's the one I'm dreaming of.
So far this has eluded me
Though I search for it more and more,
Most men I meet don't ring my bell,
And I'm not talking about my door.
I still believe my dream is there
Somewhere if I just wait,
Who knows it could be happening now,
After all, I believe in fate.
But what happens if my dream should end
And my lover says "goodbye"?
Then I won't have arms to hold me
When my heart begins to cry.
