Dear God

Dear God, when will my dawn begin?
My world has been so dark and gray.
I can't get on with my life it seems
As long as my heart is hurting this way.

Dear God, I know you can hear my voice,
You said "ask and you shall receive",
Is what I'm asking for too much
When You know how sincerely I believe?

Is my sin so great to feel such pain?
My heart is raw it hurts so much.
Will it ever be normal and feel right again?
I know You can heal it with just a touch.

Dear God, when will my darkness end
Until my dawn begins again?
Please smile at me and hold my hand
Until my walk with heartache ends.
