My Blessing

Your little face was wrinkled
And tear drops filled your eyes
I barely heard a word they said
I was pulled in by your cries.
Never could I have imagined
the love I'd feel for you.
I stand cradling my baby,
my blessing, sweet and new.
Many times I shed a tear
Afraid to live my life.
I longed to be a mother
Since I first became a wife.
The doctors gave me little hope
that my dream would e'er come true
But God had his own plan for me...
