Metaphorical Flowers

The flowers need the rain
So how could I complain
I love to see them live
I love to see them die
The colors through the year
That always please my eye
Bright with spring
Faded with fall
Oh
How I love them all
But the meaning isn’t in
The colors they present
But the metaphor they represent
The reminder of rebirth
And eventually we all become one again
With the earth
And no matter how tall
In the end
The best of us all fall
Carried away with the wind
