Mangled and broken

Slammed again.
Mangled and broken on the floor.
Running on empty for too long.
Saw it coming, again.
Makes no difference.
Mangled and broken on the floor.
Saw it coming, again.
Im going to stay here on the floor.
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Just not true.
Mangled and broken on the floor.
Just cant get back up again.
I know life isnt meant to be easy.
Saw it coming, again.
Mangled and broken on the floor.
Im just going to stay here.
What is the point.
Selfish me.
Slammed again.

Alan Paton

Hi im a 32 year old poet from the UK, I use to write most poetry on paper and leave it all over my bedroom where it would eventually end up in the bin, i was a little shy and didnt like people reading it. It wasnt untill my mother found loads of it when i moved out of home and pointed out actually most of them were pretty good. So i signed up on here 11 years ago and starting letting other people read it, not only did people read it but they seem to like it, after a long period of either not writing any or writing small bits and throwing them in the bin i am back. I hope you enjoy my poetry and can give me constuctive feedback. more…
