losing sleep
at night
thinking about the debris
floating beneath
the Pacific,
its contents,
its destinations,
the cause and effect
of it,
the reason for it
to continue
toward our shores,
concluding that its purpose
is beyond my comprehension
and its course unchangeable
by me losing sleep,
i try to rest
upon my belief
that God is still in control.
