Loves Victims

I always stand strong against the charms and temptings of a man.
I was drawn to him in an extraordinary way I shall never understand.
Dreams are written in the stars, this meeting was not by chance.
If, for-seeing the future, would I have chosen to miss the dance?

In our uniqueness we feel a pull and connection to a power,
Our poor choices and submissiveness cause us to be devoured.
Decisions made under the influence of love are quite bizarre,
A sword cutting the rope of illusion free us to be who we truly are.

Can he harness his inner restlessness and steer it with devotion?
Will I be able to defy the obstacle of unreasonable emotion?
Time and time again we fail and are led to our soul's destruction.
My love has been a naive victim of his love's blind abduction.
