It ticks away.
It tells me when I need to do things.
It tells me when I need to stop.

My life is a chain.
It binds me.
It tells me how far I can go.
It tells me how far I can stray.

My life is like a reed.
It sounds fine.
Occasionally it breaks apart.
Occasionally it's in one piece.

My life is like a vine.
It climbs up.
It covers entire walls.
It crumbles them, leaving only impressed lines.

My life is like a puzzle
Like a lock
Like a key.
My life is sometimes troubled
Like a sailboat
Like the sea.
