Living On

Who will morn us when we're gone?
Glorious friends from a party past
Strangers met on a side road or path
Familiar faces that we worked with daily
Kind souls with whom we shared a kindness
People used for a fling as we ran through
All ready to talk of melancholy memories
Events they treasured, which you had forgotten.
What did you hope would happen?
Tears shed by the painted eyes filled with pain
Lips trembling to show any watchers
“My pain is greater” see me suffer
And what new knowledge would we if we could
Send back to this bunch of Cats
Or will we laugh at our fears found untrue
Living well after death.
