Like Jesus

Joseph's mother was barren, but in God she believed,
God opened her womb and Joseph was conceived;
A coat of many colors, Joseph's father did make,
His father's love and attention, Joseph did take;
Joseph's father asked him to go,
To see if his brothers supplies were low.
Joseph, by his brothers was sold,
A wild beast devoured him, his father was told.
Joseph, as in his dream, ruled over his brothers,
Over all of Egypt, the land and the others.

Of a virgin, Jesus was born on this earth,
Like Jesus, a miracle was Joseph's birth;
Joseph's father loved him with all of his heart,
Like Jesus, from others, Joseph was set apart;
To see to his brothers welfare, Joseph went,
Like Jesus, by His Father, Joseph was sent.
Joseph's brothers betrayed him, lies to his father they told,
Like Jesus, Joseph was also sold.
Joseph ruled over his brothers and forgave them of their sin,
Like Jesus, who forgives and rules over all men.
