Lascivious Lavender

I cannot breathe
through the leaves,
no matter how hard

My lips do beg to part;
the waning tether does tear
air from all passageways

As freefully as cobwebs sprung
in the midst of heat,

Fervent are their faces

Swept--

Before morning's feet set
about their day,

I, planted like a row of garden
roses blushing fruitfully..

For flowers, do not tell
till they bud in May.
