In the Eye of a Storm

The storm swept through unpredicted that day,
It had become a way of life, so much to offer we chose to stay.
The sky began to darken and the wind began to howl,
The waves became ferocious, crashing into the wall with a scowl.
Battered and weakened we would often be,
Another one weathered, but damaged heavily.
The damage was worse this time around,
Our foundation weakened; no longer sound.
Cries of fear and terror once more rung out,
Is everyone O.K. I would always shout?
Mama can we PLEASE go where there are storms no more?
Much courage it took not knowing what would be in store.
It was in the eye of this storm, our paradise we found,
We gave up so much but with peace and serenity abound.
