If Only

The streets and sidewalks of my beloved L.A. are clean today,
Because God made the rain come down
Hard and heavy yesterday.

If only He made the rain wash away the sins of the Dirty, and
I mean, the "rotten kind" of dirty--the drug pushers and
Addicts, the "prosties," the muggers and robbers, the rotten
Producers and "actors" of the "blue-movie" industry (yes,
It is an industry), and the equally rotten producers and--yes,
The writers of all the bad, the raunchy and the weird tv shows
And movies in this "Entertainment Capital Of The World"...

If only He made the wind (that came whistling high and low),
Blow away all the stench and putrid air of immorality and
Inhumanity...I would have gladly kissed the ground I walked on
Today, exactly like I saw John Paul did when he came in '87
And "blessed" my beloved L.A.
