Homeless souls

HOMELESS SOULS
By
Leticia Waltz

I have been wounded
I have been hurt
I struggle with my emotions
I hear the bombs
I see the fear in my own eyes
I detach myself to survive
I keep reaching out
I can’t find someone to hear me out
I just can’t face this by myself
I need the support of all mankind
I need to justify the guilt in my mind
I have killed in the name of our freedom
I don’t believe people believe that
I have been told I’m a hero
I have nightmares that I’m all evil
I can’t understand why I feel so distraught
I can’t understand why I always feel at fault
I can’t communicate the sorrow I feel
I can’t feel any sympathy
I will show that I’m too weak
I just wish someone would not say
I wish someone would just embrace
I wish you could understand…

What a warrior is all about.
