Heeley City Farm

To all you city folk who make their way down here
And sometimes bring a friend or someone else dear
To walk among the hen pen counting up the breeds
Discuss which of the animals you would rather be
To sit at cosy tables with a steaming cup of tea
A kids book for them and a vegan brownie for me
Then back to the animals for another look around
Stroke the face of a horse listen to the pig sounds
The animals wander over for a nice little chat
And I'll be coming back
When its been a little while
I enjoyed every minute of it
I cant help it - the place makes me smile

(this poem is about a small farm I take my children to on a regular basis whose purpose is to educate city people on ethical farming)
