Getting passed the past.

Painful memories of the past, running through my head.
They always resurface, when I'm laying here in my bed.
They say forget the past, that's not as easy to do as said.
Sometimes I fight depression, thinking I'd be better off dead.

I keep picking up the pieces of my broken and shattered heart.
I know that I can't let myself disappear, to let myself fall apart.
I didn't have the easiest beginning, but it was only just the start.
My desire is to help others, so I will fight, and always do my part.

People out there, have been through so much worse, who am I to complain?
So, I try to dust myself off, instead of looking at myself with such disdain.
When the real purpose in my life, is to help others who are in so much pain.
I pray to God, that in some way I can help, so they haven't suffered in vain.
