For Tina 5/5/95

The pain we all feel
and the sorrow inside
is really no contest
with the hurt that we hide.
It was your turn
to sit in the Great Meadow
though I'm not worried
for you'll always be in our shadows.
So as I sit in disbelief
and shed these unrelinquishing tears
I suddenly realized
you have conquered all of my fears.
I've pondered and questioned
these past several days
and finally a dream came and carried me
to the meadow where you now lay.
I searched and I wandered
But I never did see
so I couldn't figure out
why HE chose me.
I stopped to sit upon a glorious hill
HE said "look high"
so I stood and I scanned
then I saw your face in the sky.
You said to be careful
and to live by Gods rules
that Heaven is great
and Hell is full of fools.
So we'll fight through the tears and emotions
and the patience we lack
for as they say
we can never turn time back.
I'll miss you forever
and forever you'll be
in the heavens above
watching over me...
