For Tiffany

"Eva", The meaning of her now is grey and abstract,
but unwittingly you both have entered a pact.
One that binds you like the earth and water,
for you are now mother, and she, the daughter.
The sun will rise,
the moon will wane,
and nothing can take what you will gain,
A selfawareness, a beacon, a light,
Your daughter, a star burning bright.
Cherish her, she is your own,
For before long she will be grown.
And standing alone and strong, or with another,
she will carry on a part of you...her mother.
