Even as the metronome

Tempted to place all sentiments on the table,
break away and see where it goes,
Spring from the chains that keep us frightened,
Rip open the shroud of shame
No longer will we hide our names

Fear grasps on and won't release its clutch
Digging its heals into the dirt
Dragging us down in the mud
By no means will it stake its claim

Release from the clasp
Dangling like a pendent
Free in the wind
Time keeps us restrained

Sovereighty will be found again
Words release us
Unearth our desires
Positioned with no cost

Time keeps ticking on
Even as the metronome
Liberate what won't be spoke
Anticipation of nothing to come

So wrapped up in what should be
Yet more caught up in what could be
Commonplace or common ground
Can we be found?
