Dying Rose

Mandy Williams

There is not enough water in the world

To save my dying rose

She’s already crumpled up

And too dry to handle.

Falling apart she is

There is no hope for her

The sun can no longer shine

Her petals are turning black

She escaped my energy

Leaving herself blank

She is a dying rose

Rejecting herself to recover

Regretful burdens

I let her collapse

She sees the darkness

Again she’s spiritless.
