Douglas Ave.
All the way from Douglas Ave,
to the bridges of Alberdein,
the winter wind bites a chilling cold
and blows with a mighty scream
The tumbleweed and the homeless man
drift across the street
wind driven and without hope
they wander with restless feet.
They look for quarters
because they love hot stew
before they bed down
on Douglas Avenue.
