Day's Dawning
Dawn's pink blushes greet the day
The world begins to waken
Early birdcalls greet my ears
The gentle hum as traffic grows
Street lamps flutter and then fade
Nighttime frost begins to melt
Yapping dogs herald morning walkers
Whilst the milkman makes his rounds
Soon the day will reach momentum
With its usual daily rush
But for now I sit and ponder
These gentle moments at day's dawning
