Daddy's Little Girl

Shes standing in the mirror
glimpsing up and down
she takes a deep breath
as her tears wet her gown
her father walks in, tears fill his eyes
he had promised himself that he wouldnt cry
he asks his daughter, "almost done?"
he thinks, trying to convince himself
"im not losing a daughter, im gaining a son"
she gives him a hug, he gives her a twirl
she tells him dont worry,
im still your little girl
the music starts playing
he walks her down the aisle
with perfect pace, steady and slow
she lets him go once they reach the alter
and says "I love you, daddy"
As she lets go of her father.
