Crass American Christians

The visiting bishop smiled down from the pulpit
"Now some of you at my life-style may vomit
But my ex-wife and children are in agreement
My male lover and I have a perfect arrangement
It says in the Bible that sodomy is a sin
But it can not be so because I love him
My Episcopal Church made me a bishop
And are perfectly happy to join me in worship
The fact we ignore all condemnations of sodomy
Shows how we Americans make love a priority!"
Then Christ replied in agony from the Cross
"You preach from the pulpit despicable dross!
Better a man had never beer born
Who scandals the little ones whose faith he has torn!"
