Corrupt

My mom always says
 It’s a different place than it used to be
But I hear old stories
And still find violence and misery
How is it that some place safe
Our own little sanctuary
Can be raped of all happiness
And torture the innocence
That once beamed brightly inside of me
Future generations are being corrupt
As early as in the mother’s womb
And we sit here powerless to stop it
Awaiting our countries’ doom
Judgment day will soon be here
And none will have passed the test
If not hell; purgatory at best
