Control Will Take a Soul

Omajean Lewis

Control, control, more control,
Long enough to take my soul,
A hateful heart gone bad,
Over the edge, never to be restored.

Don't be one who takes sides,
Hate has shattered my world,
Threads connecting have gone slack,
Happiness is to not look back.

Control killed my love,
Once delicate and sweet,
No more stifling of my life,
Chrushed beneath one's feet.

Omajean Lewis

Born in Oklahoma during the Dust Bowl days, growing up during the early days of the Texas Oil Fields observing WW11 as a child, graduating from high school and marrying in the early fifties, raising two children, Tonya and Brenton through the sixties and seventies and taking care of her parents and parent-in-law through the nineteen nineties has given Oma Lewis a unique perceptive on life.
