Confirmation

This is all I have to offer
This is all I have to be
I was never more than lost and found
Though I had convinced myself otherwise
That it used to be better
The last figleaf has withered in the sun
Still a shadow covers me
The last forbidden fruit
Has eroded from the vine
But my hunger was never severe
Now my spirit continues
In a divine cycle not of my own
I know I am not alone
But I am certain I am lonely
It is only by faith
That I continue with hope
That this void I ask to be filled
Will soon overflow in her presence
And if this be called temptation
Consider me observant
