city under siege (thoughts)
simple night persuades to win
staring contest against the ceiling
how much control does one need
to rule the path in relative peace?
cocky lamps are silent, extinguished
snoring, as if the War decided to seize
horizon in flashes and special effects
tremble, another one, tremble
sometime ago, there were windows,
smiling children filled-over with joy
shadows of yesterday's meals
and a green afternoon plus conversation
perplexing night... will they yield the city?
if so, what's next?
neutrality, in times when everyone is guilty
has to pick sides at some point
sleeping is off the menu
thoughts are channels to nowhere
memory - illusion of safety
blinkless, we continue to stare
the ceiling will crack first, it has to!
and hope... still in my heart
