The Moon at the Mid-Autumn Night

The Moon at the Mid-Autumn Night
By William He

Fleeing hell's fire to seek Heaven's desire,
The laser beams are venturing on high.
The quantum wave plucks the moon from the skies,
And wraps it up like a pastry in a flash.
Facing the white deity of the darkness someone solitary roves,
The other providing the Moon Palace live streaming for hours,
The conscious witness of unknown delight now.
People have their own darkside,
Which they always conceal it.

Sometime soul creates a spaceship,
Chang’e moves in mysterious ways,
The astronaut is landing to meet her.
The Algorithm will be the magic potion,
While populating with it the mind becomes extra potent then.
Expending its radiation the blink box grows reticent and shy,
Fantasizing over the reflection of the subtle deception even,
Inside Leibnitz crater nobody calls virtue ungratefulness there.
Warmth ignites and sparks fly in starry night,
Starship is sliding silver ribbon of lunar light.

About this poem

In The Moon at the Mid-Autumn Night, poet explores the intersection of mythology, technology, and human nature, creating a complex tapestry of themes that reflect the modern condition. The poem’s scientific imagery and references to algorithms and space travel represent humanity’s ever-growing reach, while the presence of ancient myth and introspective reflections on the "darkside" of human nature remind us of our enduring limitations. The moon, a symbol of mystery and enlightenment, becomes a space where these dichotomies play out, offering both beauty and deception, isolation and connection. Poet's blending of the ancient with the futuristic speaks to a central theme of the poem: the timelessness of human concerns, even in an age of rapid technological advancement. Despite our newfound ability to manipulate the physical universe, the deeper questions of existence—about loneliness, morality, and the nature of reality—remain.

    People have their own darkside,

Probably an excessive it in the 2 lines?

The moon has no light of its own except that provided by the sun’s hell fire. Yet, like the moon, we all maintain our dark sides while basking in the light that comes from others. I love the rich use of metaphors to depict humanity.
