Roles all rearranged
The facade of love a sham
And only a child to blame

Grown up much too fast
Be the mom to mom

Childhood mourned
Recalling brighter days
When tricycles were ridden
And lovely games were played

Childhood understood
Pain is washed away
God works all for good
When trusted day by day

Childhood reclaimed
