Chasing Mental Dragons

The dragon encroaches,
the brave knight feels it breath
burning his neck
and his fear
has encgourged his
knightly arrogance

No where to run,
but to the fertile western
Salisbury plain,
where the druids had a day
in the sun, so many summers ago.

In this mystic field,
he will be safe,
for dragons fear
anything beautiful.

Beauty gives it's prey
hope, or simply reason to fight,
dragons kill with fear not brute force.
We allow dragons to destroy our lives;
dragons are only real in our mental landscapes.
