Blind

They can't see us
Because they ain't feeling us
Because they're blind to this thing
That's nothing new to us

We were once like them
In the dark like them
Claiming we could see
While everything was looking dim

Grasping after straws
Seeing trees that looked like men
Until He pierced us with that raw
The only thing we'd seen was sin

But light broke through that darkness
And headed straight for the gallows
Removed the scales from eyes
And gave us bread instead of fallow

Peace instead of malo
Bid us to come and follow
Take up our crosses daily
And raise up with him tomorrow

We're on borrowed time
So, tired rhymes and fresh sneakers
Got nothing on the shine
That you'll find in seeing Jesus

Thesis for a new hope
No Star Wars — it's all true, though
The Blue Harvest of the Artisan
Time to get low and better stay close...
