Lux

Beloved, crown of light
The reason that I live and breathe
The end of my plight
To calm my restless, wandering heart

Apart from you
I don't see the things I ought to...
Truth, beauty and goodness
Are a futile pursuit

When I try to find them
In anything else other than you

The gift that I didn't choose
But I now earnestly pursue
And will continue to
For the rest of my days

Because where God wills, there's a way

And I'll follow that path
All the way to the grave
'Cause not even a coffin can stave off love
No matter how often it tries

It survives the great lie
Covering a multitude of sins and b*llsh*t
And there you sit --
The princess of my peace of mind

A constant reminder
Of mercy so sublime
Seated on a throne of wisdom
Gloriously created forever to shine
