Against The Opposer

She sits astraddle her beliefs,
not quite stable in heart,
in part she leans both ways,
toward the silver sheen,
and the blazing, deadly start.
Her only savior from the haze
is the Book grasped tight in hand,
that light draws her near,
her fear of life abandoned.
Though the Opposer stands in way,
the Book demolished the lies,
and cries of falsehood won’t look
quite so enticing, no, no more.
Ready to be sure, to know the truth,
to go and walk this path,
she unlocks the words with faith in tow,
and stands strong in Satan’s wrath.
