A Tough Smile

A frowning smile,
With tears dripping inside,
While struggling for a while,
Searching from the dark, light.

A step forward feels like a thump on the chest,
But outside is a picture of rest,
Trying hard not to break,
And ruin the frame.

In the dark,
Like an owl is a cry,
Soft, but full of rile,
But in the light is a smile so bright.

Mockery from the world,
Like a mirror creates a twirl,
In perception and nothing feels right,
But to the world you smile.

Face down, a breath drowned,
And a back against the wall bashed,
With no light even from the stars,
But sure of tomorrow's sunrise.

Deep as a borehole,
Is a feel of despair, boring a hole,
And from inside eating away the whole,
Better being of you, in slow motion.

But like the morning sun,
Dusk may be distant,
But not an excuse to give up,
Hope to see the set before night.
