A Moment in Time

Sitting in the shade of the gazebo,
she lays her book aside and lingers
in the beauty of the late afternoon.
Delicate wisteria blooms, tipped
with amethyst, fading to pale
lilac, dominate the English-style
garden. Long tendrils of ivy climb
toward the heavens, winding tightly
around white, deeply carved columns.
Gentle zephyr winds have left a
trail of pink rose petals, scattered
across the slate stones of the
pathway. Fragranced by the rain, the
