A Child's Tear

I trudge along through this swamp so hollow
Yet behind me there are none to follow
I feel the darkness crackle o'er me
As I fall deeper into this hole above me
Then I'm tossed into a melting pot of lies
And it shows me I have forgotten how to cry
Though it does leave my skin singed and empty,
The aspiration of comforting seems worthy.
So I stumble forward without a real friend
And I calmly wait until the end
