The Ledger

Greg Roundtree 1961 (Georgia)

The Ledger
The value of your life, is determined by your ways and in how you are remembered, once you’ve lived your earthly days.
For each day is a deposit, or a withdrawal that we make. As the balance of the ledger, shows us if we give or take.
Now the one who chooses not to give, and lives his life to take. May seem to us to have it all, but the ledger records his mistake.
For taking is a withdrawal, that surely will be spent. That reduces life’s deposits, and what they could have meant.
The one who says “I shall not take, I only wish to give.” Has given value to his life, and learned just how to live.
For giving is a deposit, that creates for us a wealth. With priceless living memories to the ones we give ourselves!
