Eyes

Jay 1953 (Melbourne)

Eyes

Caught in wild wounded
Hunted poked at side shouldered
Tears mouth dry ask for water
Wet around no drop in throat better

Horse run around tapping
Can hear chirp of bird mapping
Water runs on pebble
Unaware of cry of eyes rebel

Hawk like vulture seelk my fall
On ground i lay with pain all
Look around he starts to poke
My feathers with blood soak

I saw him gulp my flesh
Tearing my ribs apart mesh
Devour me bite by bite
My body felt the pain might

He looked into my eyes call
Tears blurred my look small
I pleaded him to spare my eyes
He flapped his wing large twice

Asked me why spare eyes brown
Cried aloud say i have picture crown
Of my beloved embossed still
Crave to see her all time till
