What the hell am I doing here?

Chip Fletcher 1985 (Oregon)

I always wrestle
With my hurting heart
I walk on a trestle
That’s falling a part

What the hell am I doing here?
She doesn’t like me
They don’t know me
But they think they do
What’s the message I am sending?
‘Cause I’d like to know…

I am always paranoid
But I have always known
That I don’t know where I belong
What the hell am I doing here?
What the hell is going wrong?

She don’t even like me
They won’t even get to know me
Just look at my face
They look into my eyes
They hear my scattered words
The sound of my voice pierces their ears
And suddenly they just know me…

The words fly out of my mouth
Faster than birds fly down south
To begin their winter
They hear my words
I sound stupid out loud
I feel stupid inside
And I simply become “buddy”
I miss you my friend
Because Im going through the same thing
When will this ever end?

I always wrestle
With my hurting heart
I walk on a trestle
That’s falling apart
