Truth

I act as if there's nothing
that can penetrate my skin
truth is I am so brittle
from the hollow deep within..

Fragile are my feelings
when I feel you push away
If only I could stop the clock
 forever you would stay..

I love to live in moments
that I can not call my own
pretending that you are the one
until I sleep alone..

For years I was a burden
to everyone I met
until the day you pulled me close
and held me as I wept..

Fear is a fleeting feeling
when I get down to the cause
for it will free me from the madness
of climbing up these walls..

I was stuck inside a cycle
of changing how I feel
living life on fantasy
instead of what is real..

I can see things with new glasses
when I open up my eyes
for no longer am I living
in my fantasy of lies..
