Igual que cada amigo ama a su amigo,
así te amo yo a ti, vida enigmática.
Tanto si me haces gritar de gozo que llorar,
tanto si me das penas o placeres.
Yo te amo en la aflicción y en la alegría.
Y si alguna vez quieres acabar conmigo,
me arrancaré de tus brazos con dolor
como se arranca el amigo del pecho de su amigo
Con todas mis fuerzas yo te abrazo.
Deja que en tu llama arda mi espíritu.
Y que en el fragor de la lucha
encuentre yo la clave al enigma de tu ser.
Quién tuviera siglos para existir, para pensarte.
Abrázame con fuerza entre tus brazos.
Si no te queda ya felicidad que darme,
de acuerdo, dame ese sufrimiento que aún te queda.
