Lost Innocence

I reached for her hand,
 but the vision was blur,
as she started to fade,
like a lost little girl.

There were words to be said,
but she seemed weak and sad,
as if she was ashamed and afraid,
of a sin she didn’t commit,
supposing she was held responsible,
for the words unsaid.

She had to bear the pain,
she had to stay,
I tried reaching out,
begged her to leave,
but she could not escape.

She was trying to forgive,
there was no handbook to guide her,
I reached for her hand,
but the vision was blur.
