Not Right For Us

Ha, you still don’t get it,
Do you?
Maybe you never will.
You sure as hell want it though.
It’s your eyes.
I can see straight to where the loneliness is being forged right now.
And I wish you could ‘get it’, you know what I mean?
Damn, I wish I could help you see.
Could do better as well.
Better than with fists and pipes.
Cos I know you’ve got a few neurons, here and there.
A neuron for every splattered shirt at least.
What do you tell your mother.
- Oh.
Wait a minute. Was that her?
Was it really?

Well I ain’t getting deeper in to ‘this’ no more than I already am
I’m beyond eyeballs as it is.
Too much on my plate to mop up,
Most of it other people’s shite.
I knew I was the brains around here
But for fucks sake, I’m not the heart too.
“His cup runneth over with love” they’d all say.
Ha maybe.
But no way I’m gonna be the one to take you in.
No way I’m gonna bend them.
…You’re just not right for us.
